PAPA’s music is undeniably ambitious. Their sound is bold, grand, and reckless with lyrics that make you want to sing along; making them the type of band that could be easily placed high in the line-up of some big music festivals.
Formed in New York City back in 2008, PAPA has been steadily making a name for themselves. The two band members, Darren Weiss (lead singing drummer) and Danny Presant (bassist/songwriter), were acquainted long before they decided to live in L.A. Inspired by the underground culture of the local scene, the two strove to create music that “aligned with something that was ‘other’ than the status quo”. Their debut album released back in October is a solid launching point for achieving this goal. With catchy guitar riffs and exceptional percussion, the album cordially invites listeners to become quick fans.
